My name is Chanel Kazue Shows (she/they).
I am a community birth sister | doula who offers prenatal, birth, postpartum, overnight, and lactation support throughout Phoenix, Arizona, on the unceded lands of the Akimel O’odham and Hohokam people.
I am committed to expanding my knowledge and to the nurturance | evolution of self so that I can show up fully and intentionally throughout your pregnancy, birth, postpartum journey and beyond.

What is a
Birth Sister | Doula?

Chanel’s role as a birth sister | doula are expansive and ever-evolving within the community, support team and in relationship to self. Committed to reproductive justice which centers choice and the right to self-determine what a healthy and fulfilling life may look and feel like for oneself. Reproductive justice allows space for informed choice, access to care and accessible information, and the right to have children, not have children and end pregnancies, and beyond.

Chanel offers intentional emotional, physical, spiritual and educational support throughout this pivotal time in one’s life - pregnancy, birth, postpartum, infant feeding, abortion, and miscarriage/loss.

Connections to local resources and support, evidence-based information and a safe space for exploration and conversation around what one envisions for their journey is of focus. Chanel may also provide support to partners and offer sibling and family support.
